Late last year we announced the return of songwriting genius Erik Björklund to the Rama Lama label family. Known as the leader of Delsbo Beach Club and Blodmyren he is now back with the solo project E. Björklund and oh boy oh boy, he’s still got the talent for melodic indie rock/pop gems. Today, we’re happy to bring you the news of his forthcoming debut album ‘Låtar från en svunnen tid’ that will be out on April 14th. It’s a record about finding yourself, growing up and developing in a new city and it’ll be out on all digital platforms and on a super duper limited CD.
New single and very vibe-y ‘På min cykel’ is out now, it’s a song about the sense of freedom you get after a bike ride. I wrote this song instantly after coming home from a long journey by bike, recording it while still sweaty and a bit dizzy.”. So get on your real or imaginary bikes and tune in.

Happy New Year and welcome to 2023, the year of Mary Anne’s Polar Rig. Everyone who knows us personally know we’ve been nagging on about that new MAPR album and their stellar live show for some time now. We’re so so proud to be working with them and really really excited to share this marvelous art-rock-fuzz-pop album that will be out on March 24th. New single ‘Dopamine Detox’ is out now and the album is ready to pre-order on digipak CD or on gatefold double marble vinyl limited to just 300 copies.

2022 is coming to an end! As usual, we’ve put together a compilation with some of our favourite releases from the year. It’s available to stream on all platforms and all you hi-fi lovers can get HQ-files for free over at our Bandcamp.
In 2022, we released a great album called "Swedish Punk" by a Danish act called Kindsight who doesn't play punk, either way there's no doubt that the album is an instant classic in the Rama Lama catalogue.
Talking about classics, Melby returned with their second album packed with psych/indie/folk-pop/rock bangers and six years in you're probably tired of hearing us declare our endless love for the band. Fun fact - Melby are the only ones who's managed to release something every Rama Lama year so far.
NOVA BLAST's melodic, dynamic and LOUD debut album showed how rowdy we can be.
The EP game was strong with Guds Pengar's long lost debut EP getting an official release and Wy treating us with three beautiful songs once again showcasing why they are one of Sweden's best songwriters (probably parents to).
Gula Blend's Jesper charmed us once again with his JERKA project and Per och Olof's hits were gathered on one incredibly strong and handy album.
On the singles side, we released everything from slow jams to experimental hypnotic rock from both newcomers such as Mary Anne's Polar Rig (more on them early next year...) to familiar faces such as E. Björklund, Jo Yonderly, Meet Me At The Quarry and Hippopotamus, with the two last being a part of the brand new Rama Lama Family Club.
There’s already a lot to look forward to in 2023 with some of these acts and some secret ones we can’t wait to share it with you.

With Erik Björklund’s signature songwriting style it doesn't matter in which language he sings, it is always instantly catchy and with thoughtful lyrics. Add some reverb-heavy guitar riffs and you get indie rock/pop gems that both shoegazers and dreampopers enjoy. Very early on in the Rama Lama history we released his lovely band Delsbo Beach Club and are now so glad to have him back with his solo project E. Björklund.
There will be a full-length out next spring, debut single ‘Jag ser bara fel’ is out now and is according to Erik himself about “the first day I was completely emotionally burnt out. I couldn’t go to school and just stayed home. It’s about the feeling of not being enough and when everything seems overwhelming, which ends in a loss of confidence and ultimately just giving up and abandoning life and just laying on the couch for months.”

Last month, we introduced a brand new singles series called Rama Lama Family Club, gathering singles from side-projects of bands who we've had the honour to have released throughout the years. First out was Hippopotamus, the project of Victor Skogseid from good ol’ Cat Princess and now it’s time for numero dos!
Next up is the Lund based Meet Me At The Quarry, the project of Malmö indie experimentalists Kluster B's guitarist Adam Jonsson. On his debut single 'Daydreaming' we hear his signature and captivating guitar play together with introspective lyrics.
Adam on the track: "Daydreaming is an attempt to portray how my brain works. A constant struggle between being present and disorienting"
About Kluster B
Kluster B (fka Kluster) was founded by four friends and a virtual drummer in Malmö 2014, a real life drummer joined shortly afterwards and the gang was complete. Since then, the quintet has been active on the Malmö indie scene as playing shows in Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, supporting acts such as Frankie Cosmos, Omni and Nicole Sabouné. Debut album civic was released in 2018 and was followed by sophomore LP b in 2020, both released on Rama Lama Records. The band has been pointed out as one of the world's most innovative by music magazine The Revue.
The members have a history as academic jazz players, forming Kluster B after longing to find a collective process free from strict genre playbooks and narrow-minded academic rules. A process that resulted in Kluster B's captivating characteristic dynamic and turning points, alternating from melodious to dissonance, complex to simple.

Rama Lama Records, winner of Label of the Year at the Swedish Indie Awards 2022 (that’s us!), introduces a brand new singles series called Rama Lama Family Club, gathering singles from side-projects of bands who we've had the honour to have released throughout the years. Musically the smooth track nods to acts such as Timbre Timbre and Mild High Club while thematically treating the various stages of a relationship. During the track we follow a fiction couple through three stages; 1. sudden and passionate love, 2. stagnation and arguments when life stops feeling easy and reality knocks on the door and 3. acceptance, perspective and love based on differences rather than similarities.

Rama Lama Records proudly welcomes long time favourites Mary Anne’s Polar Rig to the family! “MAPR” are a band we have followed since the debut single ‘Surfaced’ was released in 2018, a song we still regularly play on our gig nights. The debut album ‘Makes You Happy’ was released in 2021 and continued to build their signature style somewhere in between slacker rock and fuzz pop. Mary Anne’s Polar Rig are now back with the new single ‘Summer Girl’, a first taste of their incredible new album that will be released early next year.
Mary Anne’s Polar Rig are a duo who’s a part of a new generation of bands from Malmö where noisy feedback loops and distorted solos are as important as cute melodies and dancy chord progressions. Paired with a careless attitude á la Pavement but with a more explosive sound and an extremely energetic live performance they create a unique combination of slacker rock and fuzz pop which is both catchy and cocky at the same time.
In this melodic guitar inferno Mary Anne’s Polar Rig go on a cruise that will remind you of some classic 90’s bands like Weezer and The Breeders. In a leather racing suit Fast Malin Hofvander embodies the anti summer girl, sweating on the beach, while Filthy Harald Ingvarsson plays a dune-top-tapping-guitar-solo in uncomfortably tight clothing. This is a groovy rock banger served sunny side up and YOU are here to lean back and enjoy the ride.

When we started releasing music by Guds Pengar in late 2019, it was the start of a new era for Rama Lama. After previously almost exclusively having put out music in English with an “international” sound we opened the door for music in Swedish with a more traditional alternative Swedish sound. Guds Pengar was simply just too good to skip out on and in retrospect this opened our minds for signing acts such as Gula Blend, Per och Olof, änsendå, NOVA BLAST and JERKA.
It’s always extra special connecting with music in your native language but we’re also so glad that our Swedish releases have often found the way to an international audience - with Guds Pengar being on rotation in radio in the UK, Gula Blend being blasted on radio all over in Australia, änsendå getting attention from international Youtube accounts etc. etc. It feels like underground acts that sing in Swedish is really booming at the moment and there’s just so much good of it to dig in to, some that we would like to recommend are Det Jordiska, Skiftande Enheter and Levande Död.
Ok, enough side tracking. Before we started releasing Guds Pengar, they had “semi-released” a great EP just on their Bandcamp. This EP has now been remastered and it’s going to be released all over the shop on August 5th (the day before they play Fools Gold Malmö). To make it extra substantial and for it to never hide in the shadows again we’ve also pressed it on a CD that also includes their great debut album. First single ‘Komet’ is out now, it’s a song even more relevant now than when it was written almost 10 years ago, using the same metaphor for the climate crisis as the movie 'Don’t Look Up' (who obviously must have stolen the plot from Guds Pengar).

Since early 2021, Per och Olof have introduced himself with a string of releases that have showcased his music that finds its strength in the simple and repetitive. Now, it’s time to gather all of Per och Olof’s magical little pop gems on one handy release that will be out both digitally and on a limited CD on September 23rd called ‘Rädd häst’. ‘Rädd häst’ will include Per och Olof’s first twelve tracks and we’ll be releasing singles all the way to release date so stay tuned to not miss any Per och Olof track.

With their ”wall of fuzz”, the Swedish duo NOVA BLAST have a strange way of finding their way into the hearts of different audiences. Whether it has been by opening for acclaimed lo-fi electro acts or breaking the sound barrier at punk, doom and indie festivals, NOVA BLAST have made a mark. On Eccolalia - their wonderfully loud, melodic, dynamic and long-awaited debut LP - they continue to do so. We know we traditionally have been releasing more indie pop/rock-leaning music but we’ve been in love with NOVA BLAST and their "broken" pop music for years and are so proud of putting out the loudest record on the label so far. The album will be out on September 16th and the first single ‘IndoorSong’ is out now alongside a great video - check it out.

Last year, we had the honour to release Wy’s great third album ‘Marriage’. Now, the couple (and parents(!)) are back with a brand new EP called ‘Something Amazing’ that will be released alongside a deluxe CD version of ‘Marriage’ on June 17th. The CD will include the full album + the EP as well as a 6 page booklet, as always with Wy it both sounds and looks great.
First single ‘Teeth’ is about “standing helpless on the sideline when someone close to you is struggling. About feeling desperate to help when there’s nothing you can do but to be by their side and wait for it all to pass. It feels extra relevant now that we have become parents. Suddenly there’s an abundance of things we cannot control, and there’s going to be a lot more of that in the future. It’s a hard thing to accept, but you can’t protect the ones you love from everything, even if you want to.”
Something Amazing picks up where Marriage left off, exploring dramatic life changes, including the experience of knowing that there soon will be a third person in the family. It is the second release since signing to us and continues the path from last years Marriage, leaving the more produced style of second album Softie behind, it turns to the simpler sound of their earlier work for music that’s rawer and sharper. The duo describes it as being about “the light at the end of the tunnel. About narrowing your circle and focusing your gaze on what is important - the people close to you. About a door, opening wide into a completely new life, with entirely new challenges and overwhelming beauty. ”

Jo Yonderly is back with the new single 'I think I've got it, alright?'! After the release of the debut album 'Greatest Hits 1.0' last year and a few rare but mesmerizing live performances in Stockholm and Malmö, Jo Yonderly has spent time writing and recording while hospitalized.
The new single showcases Jo Yonderly from his most groovy and melodic side, with the smooth verses and the catchy chorus all tied together in a wonderful indie/pop/psych hypnotic flow. Thematically, Yonderly once again touches the subject of mental illness in his honest way, it's the first of a string of standalone singles that will be released from Yonderly during the year. He says that the song is about “the battle between two vastly different worlds. In the first, chaos reigns, and in a way, freedom - in the other world, history repeats itself - you're walking down the same old roads, treading in the same old footsteps you've always known”

Good news time! JERKA - the English/Swedish solo project from Gula Blend’s all-round good & talented chap Jesper Pettersson - is set to release his debut album on March 18th. The 7-track self-titled debut album includes everything from straightforward indie punk to 80s inspired alternative power ballads, all with Jesper’s playful signature songwriting and lyrics. New single ‘Annika’ (the glorious 80’s inspired alternative mentioned) is out now, check it out here.

Oh boy, oh boy. Everyone who knows us personally or follow us on any social media know that there’s one special little band from Copenhagen we NEVER seem to stop talking about. They’re called Kindsight and we’ve been raving on about their live performances and “upcoming debut album” for a long time. Now it’s time to announce that record, it’s called Swedish Punk (we promise we didn’t force them), it’s out on March 25th and it’s an absolute indie rock/pop gem that we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.
The new single ‘Sun Is Always in My Eyes’ is out now alongside a wonderfully weird video which you can tune into above. It’s a huge step forward from a band that’s been praised for how home they are in their sound from the very first single. The forthcoming LP is a truly addictive debut, steeped in optimism, wit and melody. During 2021, we got to release one of our favourite Swedish acts Wy’s great third album, introduced Jo Yonderly’s interesting and eclectic music with the debut LP ‘Greatest Hits 1.0’. A bit of a quiet album year but both Benz psych/folk-y and änsendå’s dream/prog-y EP’s are two of the best and most impressive releases within the EP format we’ve ever had. Top that off with some fantastic singles from oldies like Melby and newbies like Per och Olof, JERKA and Kindsight and we have another year we’re really proud of. There’s already a lot to look forward to in 2022 with some of these acts and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Hola amigos! Last month we welcomed JERKA, the solo project from Gula Blend’s head honcho Jesper Pettersson, with the monotone but playful lo-fi track ‘Natten’. Now comes the follow-up, the energetic and fuzzy ‘Living on my own’ where we get to hear Mister. Pettersson in English for the first time. We like it a lot and it’s a bit more representative of what you can expect from his forthcoming debut album than Natten.
On December 11th, we’ll throw our yearly Stockholm Christmas party. As usual we’ll have glögg, pepparkakor and great music on stage - this year’s live music comes from Melby and JERKA’s first gig ever where he’ll be backed up by Gula Blend and a guy called Nils. We’ve been raving about our Danish pals Kindsight for some time now. Their recent live shows have sparkled with potential and we are so darn happy to be working with this talented gang. 2022 will see their debut album, new single ‘Don’t You Grow Up’ is a little teaser of what to expect.
New single ‘Don’t You Grow Up’, a coming-of-age indie gem, was the first song the band ever wrote together and actually one of the first demos we got sent. The track was written in “a time when we thought to be a sunny teenage rock band, you had to write songs about teenagers in the sun,” they say. Kindsight have shows coming up in Odense, Copenhagen and Malmö - info here.

The label fam keeps on growing! This time it’s a familiar face but with a new project - welcome JERKA, the solo project from Gula Blend’s head honcho Jesper Pettersson.
On his Swedish/English solo project (first English track out next month), the nerve and genuine feeling from Gula Blend remains but is put in a more intimate setting though not sparing any energy. To us, Jesper has quickly become not just one of our beloved acts but also a very good friend and we’re so happy to be releasing another great project from him. Debut single 'Natten' is a monotone but playful lo-fi track with Pettersson's signature simple but compelling storytelling lyrics in the center of drum machines and synths that together create a hypnotizing soundscape.

Malmö’s Benz is now back with another collection of songs packed with her playful and diverse psych-tinged indie folk, its a sound where Benz with big confidence lets her music both be direct and breathe - creating a musical soundscape for the listener to get swept away in. Ebba Salomonsson (Benz) grew up in her stepfather's record store where she explored endless different influences and styles. Benz is now back with another collection of songs packed with her playful and diverse psych-tinged indie folk, its a sound where Benz with big confidence lets her music both be direct and breathe - creating a musical soundscape for the listener to get swept away in.
The new EP 'This Could Be The End' is out on November 5th. Lead single 'I Never Thought That This Could Be The End', an up-tempo indie folk track about "two friends that make each other go crazy", is out now alongside a great music video made by Ebba G. Ågren (Wy) and produced by our pals atFeverish.

The summer’s not over yet! On August 20th, we return to Nomad’s lovely outside area for a great night with Kindsight and Black Beach Baby. Kindsight are just finishing up their debut album and their show at Plan B was one of the best we’ve seen our bands do. All the way from the charming indie pop singles ‘Balkongen’ and ‘Kommer du ihåg’ through the slower and grittier double single ‘Du är alldeles för bra / Du och Jag var inte bra’ and the roaring ‘Ensam’, Malmö based Per och Olof have showcased his simply brilliant song-writing throughout the start of this year.
‘Händerna’, a two minute long indie rock banger and the perfect soundtrack for a road trip, is the last piece from his first string of singles. No need to worry though, a lot more is on the way and after this great first batch of music we just can’t wait to hear what Per-Olof comes up with next.

We’re so honoured to be putting out this great release that according to us is the best work yet from a duo we’ve been big fans of since their very first releases. Here’s an outtake from the bio Austin Maloney wrote about the album which sums it up pretty good: “Leaving the more produced style of last album Softie behind, it turns to the simpler sound of their earlier work for music that’s rawer and sharper. On both the indie-rock and the pop songs of this album, there’s less between the listener and the heart of the song - this is music that’s very direct, both in theme and sound, with melodies that hit cleanly and leave nothing even trying to hide. It’s the work of a band that have grown into themselves and what they do, and making the strongest songs of their career.”

Today’s the day! Today we can finally share the full four track relaxation zone that is änsendå’s debut EP, a perfect introduction to an artist that’s sound is the perfect soundtrack to your daydreams.
Nico says it best, so here’s his words on the ‘EP’: "The änsendå EP touches on several themes like alienation, segregation and the pandemic but done in way that comes across as lighthearted and fun. I wanted to juxtapose the socio-real lyrics over a bright psych-pop sound to contrast the severity of the aforementioned themes. The sound is inspired by Swedish progressive rock from the 70s, 70s funk from the US and a bit 80s Japanese Avantgarde. But in a way, maybe the EP falls under it’s own genre, something a good friend of mine (my drummer) coined as “orten progg” (which bizarrely translates to something like “urban prog rock”)."

Malmö based Per och Olof have charmed us (and hopefully you too) with his simple, repetitive and really catchy songs in Swedish, through the indie pop-y single ‘Balkongen’, the slower and grittier double single ‘Du är alldeles för bra / Du och Jag var inte bra’ to the emotional and touching ‘Ensam’. Now it's time to add 'Kommer du ihåg', a song about "love at first sight", to that list.
‘Kommer du ihåg’ (Swedish for ‘Do you remember’) is a straightforward song that has the guitar doubling the vocal melodies in a very effective way which adds to the power of the lyrics (English speakers just have to trust us on this one). If you ask us, it's another proof of the brilliant songwriting mind of Per-Olof.

Yup, as that terrible headline states, Melby have a new single out called ‘Magic’. ‘Magic’ is another great track from the band that’s been spoiling us with bangers recently, this time they treat us with a psych-tinged melodious indie pop gem. A perfect spring track in Melby’s very own way, give it a spin and tell a friend!
Are from Melby on ‘Magic’: "I feel like Swedish culture has a very low tolerance for expressing imagination. Stockholm in particular is a place that demands extreme realism, concrete explanations. This can be really frustrating, and Magic is kind of a free association on that theme, wrapped in a polite, straightforward pop-tune."

Jo Yonderly’s debut album ‘Greatest Hits 1.0’ is out this month! 'Heart', a track with two distinctly different faces, is the last single to be taken from the forthcoming album. The single comes alongside the fourth teaser from Djoana Djones’ documentary about the finding of the long time missing underground icon.
Jo Yonderly on Heart: “The track showcases a very distinct and unpredictable change in emotional state, from the verse being slow and melancholic to the angry, outspoken chorus. The sudden change of mood is something I can identify with myself, and try to include both musically and lyrically.”

Last month, we introduced you to Stockholm’s änsendå - the solo project by Nico Chaves who’s funk infused mix of indie rock and psych pop swoops you away immediately. The smooth new anthem ‘Dödläge’ is the last single from the forthcoming debut EP that’s out next month.
Nico on ‘Dödläge’: “Dödläge in Swedish means stalemate and I wrote the lyrics a couple of years ago when the Swedish government was in a stalemate with no majority to build a new government. Around the same time I was visiting some friends in the southwest of Sweden and was shocked by the amount of propaganda the Swedish Democratic party (Sverigedemokraterna) had put on the streets. So the song became a bit of a tribute to Sweden but also a commentary on the rise of the right wing populist movement around the world."
Oh boy, it’s only March and during 2021 we’ve already come to know Per och Olof, the simple, repetitive and really really good solo project by Per-Olof, through the indie pop-y single ‘Balkongen’ and the slower and grittier double single ‘Du är alldeles för bra / Du och Jag var inte bra’.
Now it’s time to uncover yet another side of the Malmö based artist via the third release ‘Ensam’. ‘Ensam’, which means ‘Lonely’ in Swedish, is a track where the guitar plays a bigger part than on previous releases, sounding almost like it’s desperately singing a duet with Per-Olof himself. It might just be our favourite Per och Olof track yet from an artist who’s raw but warm and welcoming sound really has stuck on us.

Malmö duo Wy’s new record ‘Marriage’ is coming closer! A couple of weeks back you heard ‘Dream House’, a perfect showcase of the forthcoming record that is the sound of Wy moving forward and backwards at once. We promised you a lot more of that and here’s ‘That Picture Of Me’, a splendid track that once again show Ebba & Michel reach a new level.
On the track, Ebba told Atwood Magazine (great article btw): "I wrote this as a stream-of-consciousness scrolling down social media feeds. It's fascinating and very silly to me how many thoughts and emotions can occur within a couple of seconds, just because your feed is so jam-packed with information. From friends, to ads, to memes and memories. Your mood can shift so instantly and it feels very necessary to spell it out like this, so you become more aware of it."

As you’ve might have noticed on their latest singles ‘Old Life’ and ‘Common Sense’, our pals Melby are on fire right now. ‘Somewhere New’ is yet another little masterpiece from a band who’s talent to continuously develop and out-do themselves almost is starting to scare us.
This week marks five years since their debut single ‘Human’, a track we back then played on Rama Lama Radio, our show that was broadcasted on a weird local little Stockholm radio channel and that during that spring developed into what now is this label thing. It’s been a ride and we can’t wait for what’s next with this band!
Melby on Somewhere New: "The Somewhere New demo really set out to be this ambitious attempt at an indie song inspired by classical counterpoint composition. However, it evolved into something else when we started rehearsing it together, definitely to the better. The end result is this maxed out two-part journey spanning from low-key indie to intense psych-rock. So lean back and enjoy the ride, I guess."

Last week, we welcomed Stockholm’s änsendå to the label family with the great video for his 2020 debut single ‘Nya Normala’. Now it’s time to get in a good mood again with the incredibly vibey new single ‘Mina Drömmars Moln’.
Mina Drömmars Moln is a track that combines catchy melodies with a sense of slowly walking down the street daydreaming. As most of the tracks on the forthcoming debut EP have a political undertone, Nico says he wanted 'Mina Drömmars Moln' to be a "straight-up love song" where the arrangements are more in the spotlight than the lyrics. The track treats thoughts about sex and passion over a dreamy soundscape inspired by 70s funk and a touch of 80s japanese avantgarde. Expect more of this lovely funky psych pop on the EP that is out on April 16th!
On May 7th, we’re putting out the legendary Malmö indie duo and all-around cool cats Wy’s new record ‘Marriage’. A splendid record that is the sound of Wy moving forward and backwards at once. Second single ‘Dream House’ is a perfect example of that, reminding us of the early dreamy tracks that won us over as fans but also feels new. It’s simply Wy at their best and trust us when we say that there’s a lot more of that coming on the record.

Alright folks, it’s time to welcome another new member to the family - say hi to Stockholm’s änsendå!
änsendå is a new solo project from Nico Chavez who previously has played in different constellations on London's psych and garage scene. After living over a decade in the British capital, studying art and working with music videos (turns out this dude has met Paul McCartney which made us way more starstrucked than him), Chavez returned to his native Stockholm and started writing music in Swedish for the first time. The result is a funk infused mix of indie rock and psych pop which you will get to know more on his four track debut EP we’re releasing this spring.
Alongside these fun news, we’re proud to share the video for his already released single ‘Nya Normala’. The video, which shows a few characters coping (or not) with isolation, is made by Nico from stock footage from Eternal Family (eternal.tv) where artists like Mac Demarco and Jerry Paper have contributed content to.

Melby on Old Life: "Old Life consists of an upbeat, sort of entangled, rhythmic foundation, playing against gloomy and almost dreamlike melodies on top. It sounds a bit like flying, looking down at the landscapes and people passing by beneath you. You're flying fast, but there's also this peacefulness to it. That feeling ties into the lyrical theme, that revolves around moving to another country, and leaving your old life behind."

Late last year, we put out the energetic and wonderful debut album from Malmö’s Gula Blend, the band that recently got nomiated as “Newcomer of the year” at Manifest (Swedish Indie Awards). When we first heard Per och Olof, we were listening to demo submissions exhausted on a slow train back home to Stockholm from Malmö. None of us said anything, it was just the perfect soundtrack to the mood we were in and it was hard to define straight away if it was good or bad. We listened to Per och Olof for the rest of the train ride, the next whole day, and the day after that. It was clear that it wasn’t just the mood, Per och Olof was brilliant.
So here we are, putting out his debut single ‘Balkongen’, we’ve recently learned that all his tracks start out as punk demos before they get polished in to pop songs and that might just be the explanation of how it’s so simple and raw but warm and welcoming at the same time. ‘Balkongen’ is a track about unrequited love and a first glimpse of Per och Olof’s music, a lot more is to expect during the spring. Last fall, Copenhagen’s Kindsight stormed right in to our hearts with the excellent singles ‘Terminal Daze’ and ‘Who Are You’ and great live performances that quickly showed their sky-high potential. The great blog For The Rabbits even proclaimed that “they just might be your new favourite band”, a view we are ready to stand by.
Kindsight are now back with their third release, the slow-burner ‘How I Feel’. It’s a track that expands the sound but at the same time keep the lovable warmth and atmosphere that’s already significant for this band. They are currently working on their debut album and we can’t wait for what’s to come from this quartet.
Regarding the track, Kindsight says: “Nina was once gripped by an overwhelming need to tell the world how she felt. Everyone agreed that it seemed like a fair deal, as she is the lead-singer. A longing ballad with a hazy view was built to heed her demand. But as it turns out, Nina hasn't got a clue how she feels.”

After years of searching and wondering, the man behind the mystical and enchanting demos that reached the Rama Lama HQ some time ago have finally been tracked down to Malmö, Sweden. This after great help from Djoana Djones who have documented this great journey, check out the first teaser above.

Rama Lama Records 2020 - Good music from a bad year

2020 didn't exactly go according to plan. We could be negative and nag about the fact that we've never put on as few live gigs as we did this year, but at the same time we've never released this much music. Music that has helped us not give up during these "strange times".
During 2020, we've had interesting debuts from Kindsight and Gula Blend mixed with follow-ups by Kluster B and Melby, the great return of Chez Ali and debut albums from Lilla Parasit, Guds Pengar, Loaver and Steve Buscemi's Dreamy Eyes. What stands out to us this year is the great and eclectic mix these wonderful acts form when they come together, and we're so glad and proud to have released them all. We hope this compilation can work both as an introduction for the curious and a reminder for the great people who continue to follow and support our little label.
In 2021, we turn five and we plan to celebrate it a lot, stay tuned!

The picture is taken from the very first time we met the band IRL, when they came up to Stockholm archipelago to play and instantly charm our fourth birthday party. An intense start to a collaboration but first and foremost, a friendship, which during this short time already has given us so much good music and so many good times.
’Inte idag’ is just the start for this band who already have new music in the works, but for now we celebrate their DEBUT and saying congratulations to the Gula Blend gang!

Julia Rakel & Matilda Wiezell have made a Christmas song!
One of the best things about running this little Rama Lama operation is seeing our great acts share stages, becoming friends and collaborating. Here’s a wonderful example of the latter, Julia Rakel & Melby's Matilda Wiezell have on distance but together created the bittersweet tune ’Next Xmas’ - the Holiday song 2020 deserves.
Tune in and sing with them: "To hell with the news and to hell with this time of year, to hell with restrictions, fast forward to next Christmas”.
