JERKA is the solo project of Malmö DIY musician Jesper Pettersson, mostly known as the brain behind and front figure in garage-tinged indie band Gula Blend - the band that released their debut LP in 2020 and got nominated as newcomer of the year at the 2021 Swedish Indie Awards.

On his solo project, the nerve and genuine feeling from Gula Blend remains but is put in a more intimate setting. As JERKA, Jesper gives himself the freedom to explore new ideas and sounds and alternates between Swedish and English. The 7-track self-titled debut album includes everything from straightforward indie punk to 80s inspired alternative power ballads, all with Jesper’s playful signature songwriting and lyrics.
